Used cooking oil bank scheme

Keep it Clear has helped make recycling of used cooking oil easier for domestic householders.

Initiatives have included establishing banks for the collection of used cooking oil at recycling centres across the region instead of it being poured down sinks and drains.

Companies such as Living Fuels collect the used cooking oil and turn it into bio fuel or bio energy, used to generate carbon neutral electricity for UK homes and businesses.
