If things like wipes, sanitary waste, fats, oils and grease are tipped or flushed down the sink or toilet, there’s a real risk that they will collect together, block

your drains and pipes and stop the water from flowing away.

And if the blockages happen in the sewers or at a pumping station, the waste will back up into either your and your neighbours’ homes or overflow into local rivers and streams.
